Obituary for Ethelene Best (McCay)

Ethelene (McCay) Best, age 102, of Hayden passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 3rd, 2018 at TLC Nursing Home in Oneonta, Alabama. Mrs. Best was a homemaker, who enjoyed sewing, quilting and gardening. Born here in Blount County, she was a member of High Rock Congregation Methodist Church.

Those left to cherish her long lifetime memories are sons Milburn Best, Donald and Mary Best; brother Levy McCay; 9 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and lots of friends. Mrs. Best is preceded in death by her parents W. E. and Mary Ardelia McCay; husband Ulus Roden Best; son Billy Ray Best; daughter Margaret Vickers; brothers Isaac McCay, Alvin McCay, Timothy McCay, J.P. McCay; sisters Velmer Hays, Estelle Parsons, Pernie Kay Dunne.

The family will receive friends at the Blount County/Cleveland Funeral Home on Thursday, February 8, 2018 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held following at 1:00 pm in the Blount County/Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to be at Nectar Cemetery in Cleveland, Alabama.
