Obituary for Rhea Nell Hoomes (Mitchell)

Rhea Nell (Mitchell) Hoomes, age 75, of Cleveland, Alabama passed away Thursday, February 9th, 2017 at her residence.

Survivors include her husband: George Clayton Hoomes, son: Joel (Wendy) Hoomes, daughter: Rachael Hoomes (Mark) Jones, sister: Ellen Mitchell (Colin) McKee, sister-in-law: Helen Mitchell, grandchildren: Lilly Hoomes, Jared (Chelsea) Jones, Clay Jones, Kayla Jones (Matt) Stinson and great grandchildren Ava and Mark Jones. Mrs. Hoomes was preceded in death by her parents: Talmage A. Mitchell and Nellie Hall Mitchell, brother: James Robert Mitchell and sister: Martha Mitchell Armstrong.

The family will receive friends at the Blount County/Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel, 17885 State Hwy 160 Cleveland, AL - Saturday, February 11th, 2017 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am prior to funeral services at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, 2408 Morton Rd, Warrior, AL.

Mrs. Hoomes was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother that cherished time with her family. Her favorite school was Auburn University from which she held a BS degree in Home Economics. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, and reading. She was a faithful follower of Jesus and was a member of the Cleveland Church of Christ for over 39 years. She loved her family and friends and will be greatly missed by all.

Blount County/ Cleveland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Ministers Stanley Ryan and Colin McKee officiating.
