Obituary for Carolyn Lucille Washburn (Huffstutler)

Carolyn Lucille (Huffstutler) Washburn, age 80, of Hayden passed away Friday, July 15th, 2016 at her residence in Nectar.

Survivors include husband Charles Lynn Washburn; daughters Sonya Denise Washburn, Carol Washburn Neal; sister Jewell Vaughn, grandchildren Rachel Peete, Alex Peete; a host of other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Lena Huffstutler; son Wendell Kent Washburn; brother Oliver Huffstutler; sisters Maxine Melvin, Ollie Melvin, Earlene Wilson, Christine Vaughn.

The family will receive friends at the Sweet Home Baptist Church 541 Conservation Lake Road Gallant, Alabama 35972 on Sunday, July 17th, 2016 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held Monday, July 18th, 2016 at 10:00 am in Sweet Home Baptist Church. The family will receive friends on Monday July 18th, 2016 at the High Rock Congregational Methodist Church from 12:30 pm until 1:30 pm with committal service following with burial in High Rock Congregational Methodist Church in Hayden, Alabama.


Mrs. Washburn was a Charter Member and Oldest Member of Sweet Home Baptist Church; enjoyed traveling, her flower gardens, known for raising and selling vegetables at the roadside market in Nectar, loved cooking, and puzzle books.

Blount County/ Cleveland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
